Bronco Off-roadeo

Bronco Off‑Roadeo Tennessee: A Full Day of Learning, Adventure, and Off‑Road Confidence

If you own a Ford Bronco, the Bronco Off‑Roadeo is more than an event — it’s a rite of passage. Hosted by Ford and included with the purchase of any new Bronco, this all‑day off‑road experience is designed to teach drivers exactly what their vehicle is capable of. The Tennessee location, set deep in the Smoky Mountains, offers rugged terrain, rocky climbs, and some of the most scenic trails in the region. It’s the perfect environment to push the Bronco to its limits while learning from expert guides.

Running from 7 AM to 5 PM, the day is structured into three phases: a meet‑and‑greet and vehicle orientation, basic off‑road training, and advanced trail challenges. By the end of the day, every driver walks away with new skills, new friends, and a whole new appreciation for what the Bronco can do.

Phase 1: Meet the Team, Meet the Guide, Meet the Bronco

The day kicks off with introductions. Each group is assigned a team — for us, it was Charlie Team — made up of five or six Broncos and their drivers and passengers. This is also where you meet your trail guide, the expert who will coach you through every obstacle and teach you how to use the Bronco to its fullest capability.

Before hitting the trails, the guide walks everyone through the Bronco’s features. All vehicles provided by Ford are stock Badlands, Black Diamond, or Everglades models, each equipped with the Sasquatch package. The guide covers:

  • The Hero Switches (front/rear lockers, sway bar disconnect, trail turn assist)

  • Ground clearance and approach angles

  • Proper mirror and seat positioning

  • Tire placement and spotting

  • Hand position and steering technique

These fundamentals set the tone for the rest of the day — safety, control, and confidence.

One lucky driver is chosen to run the practice course, where dug‑out ruts and strategically placed rocks lift tires off the ground and simulate real obstacles. This demo shows exactly when and why to use each Hero Switch, and it gives the whole team a preview of what’s ahead.

Phase 2: Basic Off‑Road Training in the Woods

After Phase 1, each driver is assigned a Bronco provided by the camp. Your personal Bronco stays parked and safe — this is Ford’s playground, and they want you to learn without worrying about scratching your own rig.

The trail guide leads the team into the woods, walking ahead of the group while coaching each driver through the course. During this phase, you’ll learn:

  • How to navigate tight turns

  • How to approach and exit ruts

  • How to lift tires safely

  • How to read the terrain

  • How to maintain momentum and control

The guide also talks about trail etiquette, land stewardship, and how to respect the environment while off‑roading — a core part of the Off‑Roadeo philosophy.

Intermission: Lunch and Team Time

Between Phases 2 and 3, everyone heads back to the meeting hall for lunch. Our team enjoyed a catered meal of smoked brisket, beans, chips, and soda, all provided by Ford. Lunch lasts about an hour and gives everyone a chance to relax, swap stories, and share photos from the morning session.

Phase 3: Advanced Trails — Putting Your Skills to the Test

Phase 3 is where everything you learned earlier in the day comes into play. The guide still leads the group, but now the expectation shifts — the guide will only step in when it’s absolutely needed. This is your chance to apply the techniques, confidence, and vehicle control you’ve been building since the morning.

The obstacles become more technical, the terrain gets rougher, and the trails demand more precise driving. You’re now navigating the same types of challenges that felt intimidating at the start of the day, but doing it on your own with the Bronco’s capability fully unlocked.

This phase includes the most challenging and memorable parts of the course:

The Waterfall

A slick slate‑stone riverbed that tilts the Bronco up to 30 degrees in some spots. Traction, throttle control, and trust in the vehicle are key here.

Rocky Top

The highest point on Ford’s Tennessee property. Getting to the top requires speed, traction, and confidence. Once there, the guide gives a hands‑on recovery lesson — because in off‑roading, it’s not if you get stuck, it’s when.

The recovery overview includes:

  • Traction boards

  • Pulleys and snatch blocks

  • Tree savers

  • Tow straps

  • Chainsaws

  • First‑aid essentials

It’s a practical, eye‑opening session that prepares drivers for real‑world trail situations.

The Final Cookout

The day wraps up around 5 PM with a bonfire cookout, where teams gather to eat, relax, and talk with the trail guides. It’s a great way to end the experience — full stomachs, tired legs, and a new sense of confidence behind the wheel.

Final Thoughts: A Must‑Do Experience for Every Bronco Owner

The Bronco Off‑Roadeo in Tennessee is more than a driving event — it’s an education, an adventure, and a celebration of what the Bronco was built for. Whether you’re brand‑new to off‑roading or already experienced, this event will teach you something new and push your skills further.

If you’ve purchased a new Ford Bronco — any trim, any package — this experience is included at no cost. Ford has absolutely nailed the combination of training, terrain, and fun. You walk away knowing your Bronco better than ever and ready to take on trails you never would’ve attempted before.

It’s an unforgettable day, and for any Bronco owner, it’s a must‑do.
